This is the first Polish scientific book, which presents the current and global state of research and the rich legacy of Polish research centers, developed by leading experts in the field of reproductive physiology of animals. Regulatory mechanisms are discussed on the example of a female main species of domestic animals (cow, pig, sheep), showing the differences in other species. Changes in regulations in terms of physiological evolution are presented by discussing the regulation of breeding birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish. The presentation of the research on cloning and transgenesis is especially valuable. Descriptions of the regulatory mechanisms start with the description of regulatory factor origin site, the route to the effector cell, the receptor expression in the target cell and finally, the physiological effect. For the first time, particular attention was paid to the simultaneous presentation of central and neural regulation of humoral action. |

Authors are recognized representatives of the life sciences, specializing in the field of andrology, including molecular andrology, which skilfully combines modern biological knowledge of the practical aspects of the use of male in the driven animal reproduction.
The current and future research directions relating to the selection of males for the purpose of breeding programs using artificial insemination, the impact of environmental factors on sperm production, development of complex technology of its maintenance and cryopreservation, the introduction of new laboratory methods to assess the capability for fertilization and widespread use in breeding method of distribution of sperm with the appropriate sex chromosome are discussed. |
